Zip.ch, the only Swiss competitor to the current directory services monopoly nationwide, just launched this month in Switzerland. Galixo helped develop this new startup starting with the concept and landing with a real product.
In this project, business design was at the core of our approach. For our client, the key factors to differentiate itself from the competition were user experience and business model. By opting for a disruptive freemium approach, our objective was to attract more businesses to register by offering more free content options within the platform. To financially compensate this freemium approach, we added contextual online advertising based on location in order to better monetize ads spaces.
Zip.ch is a newcomer fighting against a prevailing monopoly in Switzerland. Let’s see if this startup will be able to disrupt the established players for classifieds and online directory.
